The week of Thanksgiving I was pretty busy with 5 portrait sessions. I had never done that before, but I will tell you that it was so rewarding to see what it will be like someday when I can finally do photography full time. Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, I ventured over to the Shahbaz home to do their Christmas pictures, and something else, that you will just have to wait to see. Patience is a virtue!
The Quads: Cedar, Jeremiah, Jordan and Jonah were "decked out" in their ever so stylish outfits made by Amy's Mom, Grandma Wendy. She made the boys vests and the buttons had their special color. And Cedar's dress was another special piece done by Grandma Wendy. The lining was from her going away dress from when she and Grandpa Darrell were married. I just love all of her work and the Quads certainly have benefited from her talent as a seamstress.
On to our session, we first did some photographs inside as a family, and then on an antique sled Grandma Wendy brought. Now that the Quads are 19 months, they are talking, and definitely mobile, meaning they don't sit still for very long in one place, so I had to really be on the ball. Each and every time I go photograph the Quads, I am reminded how precious life truly is, and what a gift children are.
Here are a few from our time together as we captured some Christmas memories. Enjoy!

Happy "belated" Halloween!
Yesterday was quite a "TREAT" because I had the Shahbaz Quadruplets over for some pictures before they went up to their church for the harvest festival. Cedar was a little ladybug, Jonah was a dinosaur, Jeremiah was a dog, and Jordan was a crazy monkey! We let them run around in our back yard, which they had never been in by the way. And, for the first time, I got to break out my refinished antique black chair. It was a huge hit! I had purchased some little "Pum Pum's" for the kiddos, which they thought were balls, so they would pick them up and then throw them. It didn't matter, because it was so fun to see how much they have grown, and really how strong they are. Enjoy a fun collage of them in their costumes.
Also at the harvest festival were my new little friends, Austin, Walker and Logan. They had so much energy while in the bounce house, it was hard to snap a picture of them and have it be in focus. Aren't they cuties?
After I got home from the harvest festival, the trick o' treaters began to arrive. I wanted a lot to show up so I could get rid of all of the candy we had purchased. We did not have very many this year, which I think was good, due to both the weather and the uncertain safety out there for the children. The leftover candy will have to be evicted from our house on Monday morning, because my hips can't afford it. I think all of Upland was at the harvest festival at Life Bible Fellowship Church. More and more churches are doing this every year, which I think is fantastic. Our church, did their last weekend, and while I could not attend, I am sure that it was packed as well.
We did have one "furry" trick o' treater, and that was our neighbor's dog, Tahoe! Jaison and Nancy bring him over every year to show off his Darth Vadar costume. Here are a few pictures of Tahoe:

The Quads: 18 Months and moving fast!
Many of you who frequent this blog, have watched the Shahbaz Quadruplets grow over the past year and a half. Well, can you believe it? They are now 18 months and they are all walking, starting to say words like dog, mom and dad, and their personalities are developing, which is a delight. I think it is so wonderful that God has given each one of them a clean bill of health, and Phil and Amy can rest knowing they are healthy.
If you need any history of these four miracles, you can go check out their blog here and you can click on Shahbaz Quads on the right hand side of this blog to see all of their previous sessions.
This session was a little more unique because it was the first time I had all four of them on their two feet running around. I brought my husband David with me for the first part of the session so he could get a different perspective. He hadn't photographed the quads since their 1st birthday, and it is a little easier when they aren't mobile and people are holding them. :) There was one adult for each quad, and we still could not keep up. It is so wonderful in the fact that every session we do with the quads, we learn more about them. Cedar is the only girl and she let's everyone know she is in charge. She has these amazing little ringlet curls and the brightest eyes. Jonah, well, he is not camera shy at all, and I think that he is in love with me and my camera. Jeremiah is so calm and reserved, yet has the greatest smile. We think he had a little ear infection this time around, so we didn't get that classic Jeremiah smile. Jordan is hilarious. He is so smart and knows when you tell him no, because he will point his little index finger with you and say no. Whether that is smart, or little Mr. Attitude, that's another story. This time, they needed to have a snack before their session so they could be happy babies. *Note to photographers, make sure you coordinate with the parents as to when the eating and feeding times are so you have the happiest baby ever.

The Shahbaz Quadruplets! Walking, Talking, and Teeth!
The Shahbaz Quads are officially 16th months old this week. A few weeks back, I went over the the Shahbaz home and photographed the Quadruplets for their 15 month session. Wow! I had seen them since their 1st Birthday, but oh my how they grow! They are doing so well, Jeremiah and Jordan walked for me. It brought tears to my eyes, only because I am so happy they have come this far. Each of them is starting to develop their own unique personality, along with knowing how to get their way. Cedar has beautiful curls and a killer smile, and Jordan knows how to fool you to throw the ball back. And that silly Jeremiah, who will laugh at anything! We had such a blast doing this shoot. Amy's parents were over to help out for the day which I always appreciate because then we have one little one per adult. Phil was out of town for some family business, so we missed him during our time together.
Amy, I appreciate you so much for how much love you give to each of your children and how you tirelessly give every hour of your day. Wendy and Darrell, you are the greatest grandparents and I hope you had a wonderful trip to Switzerland. And Phil, I missed you during this session, and pray that your family has peace in their hearts. Love, Tira J.

On the cover of.....Whitworth Today!
If you are wondering how the Quads are, you will have to check back after July 9th, because I will be doing their 15 month photo session! I was over at their home this past Sunday after church and caught a glimpse of my four precious models. Oh my how they have grown since their 1st Birthday Party! So, check back next week, as I assure you it will be great!
Today is Phil's Birthday! Happy Birthday Phil....aka Dad of Amazing Quadruplets!
So, back to the title of this post...On the cover of Whitworth Today! If you have been Keeping Up With the Quads on their blog and on this photo blog, you would know that they have quite an amazing story, and hundreds of pictures to document it. Phil went to Whitworth University up in Spokane, Washington for his Bachelor's degree, and during his time in college, he met so many amazing people who committed to he and Amy to be there through the thick and the thin. Phil and Amy could not have made it this far with the Shahbabies had it not been for those people from Whitworth and some amazing people at APU. Many colleges and universities have a quarterly magazine specifically geared towards their alumni where they give updates, etc. At APU, we call it APU Life, and at Whitworth, they call it Whitworth Today. The people behind this publication wanted to do a story on Phil, Amy and the Quads and use some of our photographs taken over the past year. Click here for that story.

A Joyful Celebration! The Quads 1st Birthday
Two weekends ago, my husband and I had the opportunity to take pictures at the Shahbaz Quads 1st Birthday and Dedication. If you haven't been to our photo blog before and need to be caught up on who the Shahbaz Quads are, click here and here!
It was a time of thankfulness, joy, and celebration to see how healthy Cedar, Jonah, Jordan and Jeremiah are today. Our God is so good and Phil and Amy continue to thank every person who has been a part of this incredible journey. Papa "G", Phil's father performed a dedication ceremony for each little one. It is a blessing to know that they are now part of Christ's family.
You will especially enjoy seeing the quads enjoy their first taste of sugar as they each enjoy their own personal cake which Mom / Amy made. Red for Precious Cedar, Blue for Jordan, Green for Jonah, and Yellow for Jeremiah. Everything has been color coded for the past year for Babies, A, B, C, D in order to keep things straight.
Phil and Amy, you are remarkable parents and we had a beautiful time capturing more of your families memories. Thank you for allowing David and I to be a part of this special day. We love you and the kiddos!

The Quads are almost ONE!
The quads are going to be a year old this week on March 28th. It has been quite a year for Phil, Amy, the quadruplets, their family and friends. If you want to read more about the incredible journey of the Shahbaz Quadruplets aka the Kiddos, click here. Even though it has not been updated for a few months due to the craziness of life, you will be able to see what their family has gone through in order to welcome these four incredible babies into their lives. Everyone has been so blessed by their entire family. Over the past 6 months, I have had the privilege of taking their pictures and can't wait to take their photos at their 1st Birthday party. Check out the entries on this blog here for the 9 month pictures of the quads and here for the 6 month pictures. Check back in a few weeks for all of the amazing things that will take place to celebrate the life of these amazing quadruplets who are a blessing from above.

9 months and counting!
On Saturday January 26th, I had the opportunity to go to the Shahbaz home again to see the quadruplets, Cedar, Jonah, Jeremiah, and Jordan. This was supposed to be their 9 month photoshoot, but we are a bit behind, because they actually turn a year on March 23rd. They are so adorable, and every time I come over to see them, they just eat up my camera. Phil and Amy continue to be super parents of quads and I admire them so much for all they do. Thank you for allowing me into your home to photograph your family. Enjoy your slideshow!

The Shahbaz Quadruplets
In early October, I had the opportunity to do a photo shoot for Phil and Amy Shahbaz and their beautiful quadruplets. Below are some of the favorite shots chosen by Mom (Amy). We had a lot of fun taking pictures, especially the first one titled "How Full is Your Bucket". The quads slept in this position for almost half an hour. Special thanks go Grandma Wendy and her determination to shoot this picture.
