Baby Noah is finally here...

He may be the greatest Steelers fan and basketball fanatic or possibly a hopeless romantic, but he finnally made his grand entrance into this world! Noah Douglas arrived on Thursday, March 27th at 7:09 p.m. He was 6 lbs. 3 oz. and 18 1/2 inches long. His proud parents Marsha and Dave are blessed to have such a healthy, gorgeous baby boy. I had the opportunity to meet Noah the day after he was born and ironically, the photo below was taken when he was 24 1/2 hours old. I am looking forward to sharing more of Noah with all of you, as I think he is quite handsome. God has made everyone of us beautiful, but Noah has this beautiful presence about him, and it is like he extends grace to everyone he comes in contact with and brings joy to your heart. M & D - you are blessed!

Abby and Josh: Fun times at the park!

On Wednesday afternoon, we went to the park to do some "surprise" pictures for my bosses husband, as he has been out of town for the past few weeks. Since we went to the park right after work, the lighting was fabulous and I just love the glow which appears on each subject. Abby (18 months) and Josh (almost 4 years) are a blast to be around and love running off their energy at the park, or anywhere there is space. Josh was so excited to have his pictures taken, that he could not sit still. We found out more about the Ninja Turtles during our photo shoot, and Josh even made a new friend at the park. Abby was just a gem to photograph and melted in front of the camera. She wanted to show Mom how she could be a big girl and climb the ladder on the playground equipment and did not want to go home until she made it to the top. We had two funny slip ups during our time together, as someone forgot to clean up after their doggy, so I was the lucky one to step in it, and two, Josh had to go potty. I am sure there are plenty of kids who have left a photosession or two to use the facilities. :) *Advice to photographers out there, be sure there are bathrooms nearby for your clients to use or to change their outfits and keep a change of clothes and shoes in your car, along with a plastic bag.

Sandy, thank you for giving me the opportunity to take your children's pictures and I cannot wait to do it again, and Rue....Welcome Home!

The Quads are almost ONE!

The quads are going to be a year old this week on March 28th. It has been quite a year for Phil, Amy, the quadruplets, their family and friends. If you want to read more about the incredible journey of the Shahbaz Quadruplets aka the Kiddos, click here. Even though it has not been updated for a few months due to the craziness of life, you will be able to see what their family has gone through in order to welcome these four incredible babies into their lives. Everyone has been so blessed by their entire family. Over the past 6 months, I have had the privilege of taking their pictures and can't wait to take their photos at their 1st Birthday party. Check out the entries on this blog here for the 9 month pictures of the quads and here for the 6 month pictures. Check back in a few weeks for all of the amazing things that will take place to celebrate the life of these amazing quadruplets who are a blessing from above.

Lovin' my Shootsac!

A few weeks back, I was doing a graduation photoshoot for Amanda at APU, and while we were on our way to our last shoot location, my friend Jeanette stopped us to chat and then she grabbed my camera out of my hands and said, let me take your picture so you can send it in to the shootsac site. Um Ya! Jeanette is crazy at times, but I think it has to do with her pregnancy hormones. I allowed her to take my camera and shoot away while I was posing with one of my fabulous new covers Jessica Claire had on sale at the shootsac site. You can see the fun we had below. Every time she walks by me on campus, she pretends she is shooting a picture, indicating that I needed to get these pictures posted. Here they are girlfriend! I appreciate Jeanette because she has been one of my greatest cheerleaders on campus, and she encourages me to continue photography and support my dream. And, she is a wonderful woman of the Lord. She is great friends with the ever so fabulous Jasmine Star and her sisters. Bianca is Jasmine's twin sister and she will be coming to APU next week to speak in Chapel, so you may want to tune in online to hear her or if you want to stop by APU at 9:20 for chapel on Monday, 3/31, holla back and we can meet up to go hear her speak. More details later.

Tira J ~ Where have you been?

That is a fantastic question!

I have been bogged down with school, work, and photography, and life in general. For those of you reading this who I have yet to meet, I am finishing up graduate school and will be graduating on May 3rd. It has been a long three years and an amazing three years. If you go to an earlier post, you can see who I have been on this journey with. The most important person in my life who has been on this journey with me is my hubby. He has been so patient, loving, encouraging, and forgiving this entire time. I am looking forward to finishing up my graduate program and living life!

Amanda: Graduation Portraits

Amanda is a soon to be college graduate who is going to knock her future employers socks off with her intelligence and care for others. She is going to make a huge difference in the field of Social Work.

Amanda was referred to me by my friend Dawn who I did graduation announcements for a few years back, and it was by chance that they had "heard" I was doing grad portraits and announcements again this year. Dawn thanks for the referral! Amanda, thank you for your patience and willingness to be yourself in front of my camera. And finally, congratulations on your upcoming graduation.

I hope you enjoy your slideshow. Click here!
